Job summary

CorePower Yoga in Arlington, VA seeks a passionate instructor to lead CorePower Yoga classes and guide students in alignment and modifications. You will prepare in-studio plans, arrive early and stay late to read communications, and engage with members to support studio growth.

Responsibilities include welcoming clients, handling front desk tasks, and upholding CPY values. The role emphasizes safety, heat-tolerance, and community engagement, with opportunities to participate in All Access

Qualifications

• Certified yoga teacher with 200-hour training and CE hours for specified formats.
• Current CPR/AED certification is required.
• Strong communication, professionalism, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications.
• Ability to lead up to 1.5 hours of physical activity and operate in heated classes.

Responsibilities

• Teach a minimum of two CorePower Yoga classes per week (≥4 hours) in studio.
• Educate students on alignment and provide posture modifications.
• Arrive 30 minutes before and stay 30 minutes after each class for planning and communications.
• Connect with students before and after class to support personal and studio growth.
• Welcome students, check-in, manage front desk duties and POS transactions.
• Perform cleaning tasks per CPY Smart Health Protocol standards.
• Uphold CPY Core Values and foster positive relationships.
• Act as in-studio ambassador for CPY initiatives and business streams (All Access Membership, programming, lifestyle programs, and retail).

Job description

• Teach a minimum of two CorePower Yoga classes per week for a minimum of 4 hours in studio
• Serve the community and provide a consistent safe space by educating students on alignment, offering posture modifications, and using CPY cueing formulas
• Arrive 30 minutes before and remain 30 minutes after each class to read studio communications, plan CPY-aligned classes, use class-planning and support tools, and connect with students
• Connect with students before and after class to support personal growth, studio growth, and current CPY initiatives
• Welcome students, check them into class, navigate POS transactions, process front desk duties, and ensure a memorable experience
• Perform assigned cleaning tasks in accordance with CPY Smart Health Protocol standards
• Uphold CPY Core Values and foster positive working relationships
• Act as an in-studio ambassador for CPY initiatives and business streams, including All Access Membership, programming, lifestyle programs, and retail

Requirements

• Certificate of completion from a 200-hour yoga teacher training with an additional 50 hours of continuing education for C1, C2, HPF and Hot Formats, or a Yoga Sculpt or Fitness Training plus an additional 40 hours of continuing Education for Yoga Sculpt, for training completed prior to June 2020
• Certificate from a format related 200-hour yoga teacher training in person/online, and/or a CorePower Yoga Online teacher training, and/or completion of 50HR Yoga Sculpt Intensive, for training completed after June 2020
• Current CPR/AED certification required
• High School diploma preferred
• Excellent oral communication skills, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Ability to lead students in physical activity for a maximum 1.5 hours at a time
• Ability to withstand exposure to heat of a maximum of 104 degrees for a minimum of 60 minutes in heated classes
• Must be able to move around the studio space, crouch, bend, reach, and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Assigned a studio set including a home studio and supporting studio(s) where instructors teach permanent classes, prioritize subbing support, receive routine feedback and communications, and support community growth and CPY initiatives
