Job summary

Bellocq Tea Atelier in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a warm, engaging Retail Sales Associate to join our intimate team. You’ll welcome customers, share our tea collection, guide tastings, and help create memorable experiences in-store.

You will participate in opening/closing, merchandising, and events while maintaining the atelier’s inviting atmosphere. Prior tea knowledge isn’t required — curiosity and hospitality matter most, with opportunities to grow within Bellocq.

Qualifications

• Retail, hospitality or customer-service experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Warm, polished and professional presence
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Ability to remain calm and gracious in a busy environment
• Confidence working independently and collaboratively
• Interest in tea, food, hospitality, design or craft
• Genuine desire to learn; prior tea knowledge not required

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers with warm, attentive and knowledgeable service
• Guide customers through tea selections and gifts
• Prepare and offer tea tastings
• Build relationships with neighborhood regulars
• Maintain Bellocq’s visual standards and keep the atelier beautiful, clean and organized
• Handle point-of-sale transactions
• Assist with opening, closing, merchandising and inventory
• Support in-store tastings, seasonal launches and events
• Assist the wider Bellocq team with occasional projects and production needs
• Contribute to individual and store sales goals
