Job summary

Fairfax County Government seeks a Transportation Planner to support the Commuter Services (FCCS) team. The role focuses on outreach, employer engagement, and sales-oriented activities to reduce single-occupancy vehicle travel through Transportation Demand Management programs.

Responsibilities include coordinating with MWCOG, DRPT, VDOT, and TMAs, maintaining CRM records, and contributing to newsletters and events. A bachelor’s in a related field and 2 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, urban, regional or transportation planning or a closely related field; plus two years of professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with county and regional agencies to implement TDM programs.
• Collaborate with FCCS team to plan and implement TDM strategies.
• Conduct sales-oriented employer outreach to establish TDM programs.
• Maintain CRM records for outreach information.
• Represent FCCS at employer-based transportation events and meetings.
• Prepare quarterly TDM newsletters and coordinate outreach campaigns.
