Job summary

MSA Safety in Murrysville, PA is hiring a TCM Mold Team member on 2nd shift (3:00 pm–11:30 pm), with a pay rate of 27.56 per hour. The role involves operating presses, sawing, grinding, riveting, and assembling components in the hat assembly line, with potential cross-training across departments in the Murrysville facility.

You're expected to read drawings and procedures, use measuring tools, lift up to 30 pounds, and maintain paperwork.

Qualifications

• Must wear an air purifying respirator.
• Read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures.
• Understand standard units of measure.
• Set up and interpret results of various measuring devices.
• Lift, 30 pounds without assistance.
• Use power and hand tools.
• Operate simple machines.
• Effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new and temporary associates.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Prioritize and organize work.
• Perform lockout/tagout.
• Obtain forklift license.
• Use waterjet machine.
• Pack shells.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months past manufacturing experience.
• Must be able to meet respirator fit test, audiogram and PFT breathing test.

Responsibilities

• Operate French presses including loading raw material on the mold and unloading of molded parts.
• Sawing and grinding excess material from hats using band saws and surface grinders as well as a waterjet cutting machine.
• Operate a riveting machine to apply rivets to various shells.
• Perform set-ups and adjustments on the machines, including die changes using power, air and hand tools and preparing raw material.
• Assembling lamp brackets/cord holder and lugs; operates punch press and clicker as needed.
• Packing completed shells in TCM or in Hat Accessories.
• Demand requirements may require moving to another position in the hat factory to inspect or pack shells.
• Visually inspecting and maintaining paperwork.
• Entering paperwork into database.
• Customer demand and/or seasonal limitations may require temporary work assignment to other departments in the Murrysville facility.
