Job summary

MSA Safety is hiring for Injection Molding Color Change Operators at our Murrysville, PA plant. The role is 3rd shift (Sunday through Friday mornings) with a pay rate of $25.02/hr plus shift differential.

You will handle color changes, startup of molding machines, and operate in several work cells including polycarbonate and lens areas. Responsibilities include material handling, cycle monitoring, equipment startup, and maintaining quality through inspections and documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 months of previous industrial manufacturing or related experience preferred.
• 6 months experience preferred in manufacturing is a plus.
• Hat Molding certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Processes various component parts in the molding cell.
• Coordinate workflow and material handling within the work cell.
• Use process monitoring equipment to ensure quality.
• Operate fork trucks to move materials.
• Perform color changes and startups of injection molding machines.
• Maintain start-up, process monitoring and maintenance tasks.
• Prepare raw materials including mixing for processing.
• Run polycarbonate and lens work cells with inspection and trimming operations.
• Visually inspect, trim excess material, and maintain paperwork.

Now Hiring at our Murrysville, PA manufacturing plant for Injection Molding Color Change Operators. In this role you will be counted on for the following activities:

• Processes various component parts.
• Coordinate workflow and material handling within work cell.
• Use process support monitoring equipment.
• Operate fork trucks.
• Performs color changes and/or startups of injection molding machines.
• Perform process control, start-up, process monitoring, press / mold maintenance.
• Prepare raw materials including mixing for processing.
• Start-up / operate part picker.
• Run polycarbonate work cells, which requires additional trimming and notching.
• Run lens work cell which has heightened inspection and cutting operations (expensive tooling).
• Visually Inspects, trims excess material and maintains relevant paperwork.

Qualifications

Possess the ability to:

• Read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures.
• Understand standard units of measure and to set-up and interpret results of various measuring devices .
• Work in a fast-paced repetitive environment.
• Infrequently lift, carry, push and pull up to 30 pounds without assistance.
• Use power and hand tools and operate moderately complex machines.
• Effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new associates and temporary agency assignments.
• Work in a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Perform lockout / tag-out.
• Obtain fork truck certification.
• Operate at a level that meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards for the work area.
• Wear safety glasses ANSI Z87 approved, steel toe shoes, and other PPE as required.

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 months of previous industrial manufacturing or related experience.

Preferred:

• 6 months of previous industrial manufacturing or related experience.
• Previous certification in Hat Molding.
