Job summary

MSA Safety is hiring for a 2nd shift Injection Molding Color Change Operator at our Murrysville, PA manufacturing plant. You will handle color changes, startup operations, material handling, and quality checks while meeting safety standards.

The role requires reading drawings, measuring with standard tools, and operating forklifts in a fast-paced line. Requires a HS diploma and at least 3 months in manufacturing; forklift cert is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 months of previous industrial manufacturing or related experience.
• Preferred: 6 months of previous industrial manufacturing or related experience; Hat Molding certification.

Responsibilities

• Process various component parts.
• Coordinate workflow and material handling within work cell.
• Use process support monitoring equipment.
• Operate forklift trucks.
• Performs color changes and/or startups of injection molding machines.
• Perform process control, start-up, process monitoring, press / mold maintenance.
• Prepare raw materials including mixing for processing.
• Start-up / operate part picker.
• Run polycarbonate work cells with trimming/notching.
• Run lens work cell with inspection/cutting operations.
• Visually inspect, trim excess material and maintain paperwork.

Pay Rate $25.02/hr plus Shift Differential

Now Hiring at our Murrysville, PA manufacturing plant for Injection Molding Color Change Operators. In this role you will be counted on for the following activities:

• Processes various component parts.
• Coordinate workflow and material handling within work cell.
• Use process support monitoring equipment.
• Operate fork trucks.
• Performs color changes and/or startups of injection molding machines.
• Perform process control, start-up, process monitoring, press / mold maintenance.
• Prepare raw materials including mixing for processing.
• Start-up / operate part picker.
• Run polycarbonate work cells, which requires additional trimming and notching.
• Run lens work cell which has heightened inspection and cutting operations (expensive tooling).
• Visually Inspects, trims excess material and maintains relevant paperwork.

Qualifications

Possess the ability to:

• Read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures.
• Understand standard units of measure and to set-up and interpret results of various measuring devices .
• Work in a fast-paced repetitive environment.
• Infrequently lift, carry, push and pull up to 30 pounds without assistance.
• Use power and hand tools and operate moderately complex machines.
• Effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new associates and temporary agency assignments.
• Work in a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Perform lockout / tag-out.
• Obtain fork truck certification.
• Operate at a level that meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards for the work area.
• Wear safety glasses ANSI Z87 approved, steel toe shoes, and other PPE as required.

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 months of previous industrial manufacturing or related experience.

Preferred:

• 6 months of previous industrial manufacturing or related experience.
• Previous certification in Hat Molding.
