Job summary

Siemens EDA in Ames, IA seeks a Software Developer and Researcher for the Semiconductor Process and Device Simulator. You will work on high‑performance scientific computing to advance Calibre tools used in leading edge semiconductor design.

Applicants should have a PhD or MS+5 years, strong coding skills in C/C++, Python, CUDA, and MPI, and experience with numerical methods and GPU acceleration. The role offers flexible work location and collaboration with industry leaders.

Qualifications

• PhD (or MS + 5+ years) in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, etc.), with expertise in: Scientific computing: Numerical algorithms (FEM/FD/FVM/BEM), eigen/linear/PDE solvers, convex optimization, computational geometry, computer graphics, advanced statistical methods (Monte Carlo sampling).
• High-performance computing: Distributed processing, MPI, GPU acceleration, CUDA ecosystems.
• SW/Programming skills: Proficiency in C/C++, CUDA, Python, Code Copilot
• AI/ML applications: Leveraging AI/ML to accelerate problem solving processes.
• Semiconductor knowledge (preferred but not required): Basic semiconductor process and device physics.
