TBM Electrical Superintendent (Construction Project)
Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently seeking a TBM Electrical Superintendent for a Construction Project in Washington DC.
Estimated duration: 24 months. We aim to place candidates on new projects after completion for continuity.
Summary: Reporting to the head of the Plant Department, you will oversee all electrical networks and equipment on the project.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing electrical networks, coordinating with the Professional Engineer and electricity provider, aligning with client requirements.
- Managing fabrication and installation of electrical networks, including in-house teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Handling procurement, subcontracting, or in-house fabrication of electrical equipment such as substations and cabinets.
- Providing technical consultation for investments and equipment rentals.
- Adapting installations as per Plant or Production Manager requests.
- Overseeing electrical assembly, commissioning, and dismantling of all equipment, especially Tunnel Boring Machines.
- Checking received equipment for technical compliance, documentation, and certificates.
- Organizing maintenance in accordance with schedules and using the GMAO system, ensuring troubleshooting is documented.
- Establishing electrical spare parts lists for all equipment.
- Assisting in defining and monitoring the electrical budget.
- Implementing systems to monitor electrical consumption of main equipment.
- Maintaining Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards per project requirements.
- Writing LOTO procedures and coordinating their application.
- Ensuring adherence to method statements, procedures, and safety instructions.
Requirements:
- At least 8 years of experience as a TBM Electrical Superintendent in similar projects.
- Experience with TBM projects, including medium/low voltage electrical distribution in tunnel, railway, or heavy civil construction projects.
- Licensed Electrician or supervision experience with Electricians.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical construction, codes, equipment, methods, and safety standards.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.
Working hours: Rotational shifts of 10 hours (day and night), timing to be determined.
