Job summary

The Public Health Department is seeking an Epidemiology Specialist to assist TB Prevention & Control, manage contact investigations, and coordinate screening and follow-up steps. The role includes patient transport and medication administration as needed.

Ideal candidates have public health education and TB experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work independently within a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Natural Science, or related field.
• Two years of disease counseling or prevention experience required.
• Associate’s degree/LVN with TB/STD/HIV experience accepted.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Contacts investigation interview, tests and referrals for TB cases and suspects.
• Prepares paperwork for contact investigation.
• Performs high-risk screening activities.
• Locates, transports and medicates patients.
• Performs other duties in support of the Public Health Department.
