Job summary

The Epidemiology Specialist for Tarrant County's Public Health Department will assist the TB Prevention & Control division with TB case investigations, contact tracing, skin testing, X-ray coordination, and 90-day repeat TST follow-ups in Fort Worth.

The role emphasizes high-risk screening, management of paperwork for contact investigations, patient transport and medication support, and collaboration with supervisors in a fast-paced public health environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Natural Science, or related field with 2 years' disease counseling or prevention experience.
• Associate's degree or LVN with TB/STD/HIV experience may be accepted with 4 years' related work.
• Valid Texas driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Contacts investigation interview, works up testing and referrals for TB cases and suspects
• Responsible for all paperwork related to contact investigation
• Performs high risk screening activities
• Locates, transports and medicates patients
• Performs all other duties as assigned in the Public Health Department
