Job summary

Texas Department of State Health Services is seeking an Epidemiology and Surveillance Manager to oversee the TB and Hansen’s Disease Epidemiology and Surveillance Branch in Austin. You will set goals, supervise staff, and coordinate data-driven surveillance and reporting with local health departments and partners.

You will be the Section's subject matter expert on TB, develop data software applications, and support legislative requests while traveling up to 15% of the time.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in epidemiology or public health; MPH preferred.
• At least three years of epidemiologic data analysis and reporting experience.
• Experience using SAS for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise TB epidemiology and surveillance staff and provide mentorship.
• Oversee daily Branch operations and coordinate program activities.
• Lead data-driven surveillance, reporting, and evaluation across Texas.
• Serve as subject matter expert for TB and Hansen’s disease data software.
• Collaborate with partners and respond to legislative requests.
