Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Associate Attorney for its Tax, Trusts & Estates practice, hybrid in nature with substantial in‑office collaboration. The role focuses on sophisticated estate planning, tax strategy, and trust administration for high‑net‑worth individuals and closely held businesses.

The ideal candidate has a JD from an ABA‑accredited law school, 3+ years in tax, trusts, and estates, and an LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning preferred.

Qualifications

• JD from ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic record.
• Active bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing.
• 3+ years of substantive experience in tax, trusts, and estates matters.
• LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning is strongly preferred.
• Experience counseling on estate planning, trust and estate administration, gift and generation-skipping tax planning.
• Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills for wills and trusts.
• Excellent client communication and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on estate, gift, and income tax planning strategies.
• Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning instruments.
• Assist with probate and trust administration, including asset transfers and fiduciary accountings.
• Coordinate with financial advisors and accountants to implement planning strategies.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex tax and estate issues.
• Participate in client meetings and assist in long-term planning development.
