Job summary

Htprof, a national AmLaw 200 firm, seeks an Associate Attorney for the Tax, Trusts & Estates Practice Group in Hackensack, NJ. Hybrid schedule; direct hire. The role focuses on sophisticated estate planning, tax strategy, and trust administration across multiple jurisdictions for high-net-worth clients.

Requirements include a JD from an ABA-accredited law school, active bar admission, and 3+ years in tax, trusts, and estates. LL.M.

Qualifications

• JD from ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction in good standing.
• 3+ years of substantive experience in tax, trusts, and estates matters.
• LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning strongly preferred.
• Experience counseling on estate planning, trust/estate administration, gift and transfer tax planning, and related income tax considerations.
• Strong research, drafting, and analytical skills with expertise in wills and trusts.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on estate, gift, and income tax planning strategies.
• Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning instruments.
• Assist with probate and trust administration, including asset transfers and fiduciary accountings.
• Coordinate with financial advisors, accountants, and valuation professionals to implement planning strategies.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex tax and estate issues.
• Participate in client meetings and assist in developing long-term planning strategies.
