Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC represents a national AmLaw 200 firm seeking an Associate Attorney in the Tax, Trusts & Estates group. The hybrid role focuses on sophisticated estate planning, tax strategy, and trust administration for high‑net‑worth individuals, families, and closely held businesses across multiple jurisdictions.

The successful candidate will have a JD from an ABA‑accredited school, active bar admission, 3+ years in tax/trusts/estates, and LL.M.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing.
• 3+ years of substantive experience in tax, trusts, and estates matters.
• LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning strongly preferred.
• Experience counseling on estate planning, trust and estate administration, gift and GST tax planning.
• Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills; ability to prepare complex wills and trusts.
• Excellent communication and client-relations abilities.
• Collaborative team player with attention to detail and multi-priority management.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on estate, gift, and income tax planning strategies.
• Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning instruments.
• Assist with probate and trust administration matters, including asset transfers and fiduciary accountings.
• Coordinate with financial advisors, accountants, and valuation professionals to implement planning strategies.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex tax and estate issues.
• Participate in client meetings and assist in developing long‑term planning strategies.
