Confluence Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Tax Technologist to join the North American tax team in Pittsburgh. The role blends tax expertise with technology to automate and improve US sales/use tax and Canadian indirect tax processes.

You'll build dashboards and reports using Excel, Power Query/Power Pivot and Power BI, own key tax compliance activities, and partner with Finance and Technology to deliver scalable solutions in a hybrid, in‑office setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience across tax, accounting, finance operations or business‑process automation with a tax‑first background.
• Strong North American tax compliance knowledge, particularly US sales and use tax and Canadian GST/indirect tax.
• Advanced Excel capability, including Power Query, Power Pivot and complex formulas.
• Experience using Power BI and working with large data sets to analyse, manipulate and validate data.
• Experience using automation and analytics to streamline tax or finance processes.
• Experience within a multinational corporate tax team, tax technology/transformation environment or accounting/advisory firm.

Responsibilities

• Own US sales and use tax and Canadian indirect tax compliance, ensuring recurring requirements are controlled and accurate.
• Support tax provision preparation and wider North American tax compliance activities.
• Build and improve automated workflows, reconciliations, reporting and dashboards using Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot, Power BI, Smart View and ERP data.
• Manipulate, analyse and validate large data sets to improve tax data integrity and visibility.
• Build tax and cash scenario models to provide timely insight and support decision‑making.
• Partner across Finance and Technology to translate tax requirements into practical systems and process improvements.
