Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review individual, fiduciary, trust, estate, and partnership tax returns
- Handle tax compliance for high-net-worth individuals and complex trusts
- Perform and oversee tax research related to complex client situations
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies designed to minimize tax liabilities and maximize client outcomes
- Review workpapers and tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and technical compliance
- Research and analyze federal and multi-state tax issues
- Develop strong relationships with clients and serve as a trusted tax advisor
- Identify opportunities for additional tax planning and advisory services
- Manage client engagements and ensure work is completed accurately and within established budgets
- Provide guidance and mentorship to staff and less experienced team members
- Participate in special projects and complex tax assignments as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of tax compliance and accounting experience, preferably within a CPA firm
- Strong technical knowledge of individual, fiduciary, trust, and estate taxation
- Experience with tax planning and research
- Exposure to multi-state taxation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements and competing deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team
- Advanced taxation degree is a plus
