Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Tax Supervisor to join our Park Ridge, NJ office location. The role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing firm.

Responsibilities
  • Running client engagements from start to finish, including planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects, and managing budget.
  • Supervising, training, and mentoring staff on tax projects and assessing performance for engagement reviews; performing in‑charge role as needed.
  • Reviewing tax returns prepared by staff and making recommendations on preparation accuracy and tax‑saving opportunities.
  • Preparing tax returns for complex individual, trust, and pass‑through entities.
  • Researching and consulting on various tax matters; utilizing tax‑related software to prepare and process returns and conduct research.
  • Responding to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities.
  • Meeting or exceeding chargeable hour targets.
  • Punctually entering time and expenses to support efficient billing processes.
  • Maintaining appropriate compliance with all Firm policies and procedures.
  • Developing referral sources through community, social, business, and professional organizations, as well as alumni functions.
  • Identifying market opportunities and assisting management with marketing and sales opportunities.
  • Representing and actively promoting the Firm.
  • Occasionally traveling to client meetings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree in taxation or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of progressive tax preparation experience.
  • CPA license preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and tax software such as ProSystems and CCH.
  • Technical proficiency in corporate, international, federal, state, and local tax; solid background in corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, C‑Corps, partnerships, and individual/trusts.
  • Strong tax accounting skills: US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, consolidated federal tax returns, partnership returns, combined state tax returns.
  • Ability to manage staff on multiple engagements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, initiative, and leadership skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism and consistently demonstrates respect for others.
Salary

New Jersey salary range: $100,000 – $140,000 (depending on qualifications and experience).
