Tax Supervisor — Public Accounting

The Tax Supervisor is responsible for managing tax compliance engagements, reviewing complex tax returns, providing technical guidance to staff, and maintaining strong client relationships. This role works closely with managers and partners to oversee engagements, identify tax planning opportunities, and ensure accurate and timely delivery of client services.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance engagements for individuals and business entities.
• Prepare and review complex tax returns, including partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, individuals, trusts, and other entities.
• Review tax workpapers and returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax laws.
• Research and resolve complex federal, state, and local tax issues.
• Identify and communicate tax planning opportunities and potential risks to clients and engagement leadership.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and develop strong professional relationships.
• Coordinate engagement timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met.
• Supervise, train, and mentor Tax Seniors, Staff Accountants, and other junior team members.
• Review staff work and provide technical guidance and performance feedback.
• Assist managers and partners with complex tax matters, special projects, and client presentations.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation, regulations, and accounting standards and communicate relevant developments to clients and staff.
• Participate in business development activities and contribute to expanding client relationships.
• Assist with recruiting, training, and development of the firm's tax professionals.
