Job summary

CPS Inc. is seeking a Tax Senior in Public Accounting to prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and other business entities.

You will work closely with managers, partners, and clients to identify tax planning opportunities, resolve complex tax issues, and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Analyze financial statements and supporting documentation to identify tax issues and planning opportunities.
• Research and interpret federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Assist with tax planning, compliance, and special projects.
• Communicate directly with clients to obtain information, address questions, and resolve tax matters.
• Review work prepared by staff accountants and provide guidance and feedback.
• Assist managers and partners with complex tax engagements and client deliverables.
• Monitor engagement deadlines and manage multiple client assignments simultaneously.
• Identify potential risks, technical issues, and opportunities for process improvements.
• Stay current on changes in tax legislation, regulations, and accounting standards.
• Participate in client meetings and contribute to the development of client relationships.
• Mentor and train junior tax staff.
