Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio is seeking a Tax Accountant to apply accounting principles and tax expertise to analyze financial information, prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and businesses, and support audits.

You will mentor peers, drive continuous improvement, ensure regulatory compliance, and communicate with clients to deliver accurate statements on time while maintaining strong relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent)
• 3+ years of individual tax return experience including at least 1 year business/entity returns
• Knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations
• Proficient with accounting systems and spreadsheets
• Strong client-service communication and time management
• Completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment and related trainings

Responsibilities

• Prepare tax statements and financial statements at required intervals
• Prepare and return statements to clients by deadlines
• Prepare business/entity tax returns and assist with audits
• Manage tax administration tasks including research, planning, and returns
• Identify deductions and credits to minimize tax liability
• Engage with clients and maintain relationships
• Stay updated on federal/state tax laws and compliance
• Support month/quarter/year-end analyses and data validation
• Provide guidance to Associate Tax Strategists as needed
