Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. seeks a Tax Accountant to apply accounting principles to analyze financial data and prepare financial statements, corporate and partnership tax returns, and personal tax filings for clients and audits.

You will research tax regulations, support tax planning, and mentor peers while driving continuous improvement. Strong GAAP knowledge and client-service focus are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Minimum 2 years accounting experience.
• Minimum 1 year business tax/entity returns experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Experience with mid-level integrated online accounting applications.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.
• Experience with bookkeeping software and spreadsheet/database tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tax statements, financial statements, and BAS statements at required intervals.
• Prepare corporate and partnership returns for audits and client statements.
• Engage with clients and maintain strong relationships.
• Stay current with federal and state tax laws and compliance requirements.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end analyses; validate data accuracy.
• Mentor peers and support process improvements.
