Job summary

UHY—a leading professional services firm—seeks a Tax Manager to oversee and review client tax information, including business and individual returns, while guiding a diverse client base. You will manage client relationships and supervise staff to ensure high-quality work across engagements.

The role emphasizes tax planning, research, and staying current with tax laws, with oversight of timelines, budgets, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent license required or preferred.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in a professional service environment such as a CPA firm or financial consulting firm.
• Experience with tax planning strategies, supervision of staff, and engagement oversight.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and review client tax returns for a diverse client base.
• Supervise tax staff, monitor budgets, timelines, and engagement progress.
• Develop and implement comprehensive tax planning strategies.
• Stay current with federal, state, and local tax laws and provide guidance to clients.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

Juris Doctor (JD) degree (preferred)

CPA or Enrolled Agent license

Professional service experience (CPA firm/financial consulting)
