Job summary

650 UHY Advisors Midwest, Inc. is seeking a Tax Manager to oversee client tax engagements, review returns, and lead a team of tax professionals. The role focuses on strategic planning, accurate compliance, and delivering high-quality service to diverse clients across multiple industries.

The candidate will work closely with partners, supervise staff, and drive improvements in tax workflows while maintaining strong client relationships and staying current with tax laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance is required.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in a professional services setting.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent license is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and review client tax returns and related financial information.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies for clients.
• Supervise tax staff and review their work for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor engagement progress, budgets, and timelines.
• Communicate complex tax concepts to clients clearly.
• Ensure timely tax filings and internal quality control standards.
• Mentor staff and foster professional growth within the team.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and firm growth.
• Collaborate with partners on business development and client proposals.
