AbacusPro is seeking a Staff Accountant – Traditional Tax for our Springfield, MO office. You will prepare federal, state, and local returns for high-net-worth clients across various industries, assist with tax planning, and collaborate with senior staff to ensure timely, accurate filings.

The role emphasizes strong attention to detail, client communication, and adherence to firm standards, with potential growth into advisory support and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; Master’s and CPA eligibility preferred.
• 1–3 years of tax preparation experience, ideally in public accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; experience with tax software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
• Assist with tax planning for high-net-worth clients.
• Review client documentation for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Prepare workpapers and schedules to support reviews and filings.
• Meet with clients to gather information and present findings.
