Abacus! in Springfield, MO is seeking a Staff Tax Accountant to join our growing tax team. You will prepare federal, state, and local returns for high-net-worth business owners across a variety of industries.

The staff accountant will assist with tax planning, ensure compliance with tax laws, and collaborate with senior accountants, managers, and partners to deliver accurate client returns with high-quality advisory support.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s and CPA eligibility preferred
• 1–3 years of tax preparation experience, ideally in public accounting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
• Experience with UltraTax, QuickBooks (Desktop & Online), and AdvanceFlow preferred
• Ability to pass a CJIS background check

Aufgaben

• Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns
• Assist with tax planning strategies for high-net-worth owners
• Research tax issues and provide recommendations to leadership
• Review client documentation for accuracy and corrections
• Prepare workpapers and schedules to support the review process
• Meet with clients to gather information and deliver completed returns
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with firm policies
• Monitor filing deadlines and ensure timely submission of returns
• Respond to client inquiries in a professional and timely manner
• Collaborate across tax, audit, and accounting teams to support client needs
