Job summary

LHH US is seeking a Tax Specialist to prepare accurate and timely tax returns for individuals, businesses, and trusts. You will work with our tax team, maintain attention to detail, and follow established processes to ensure high-quality client service.

Responsibilities include preparing returns using firm software, organizing data, communicating progress to senior staff, staying current on tax procedures, and assisting with estimates and basic planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required.
  • Actively pursuing CPA license is preferred but not required.
  • 1–3 years of public accounting experience (internship or full-time)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
  • Solid organizational and time management skills
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a team environment
  • Professional and clear communication skills

Job Description
Position Title: Tax Specialist

Tax Specialists are responsible for preparing accurate and timely tax returns for individuals, businesses, and trusts. This role involves working closely with the tax team, maintaining strong attention to detail, and following established processes to ensure high-quality client service. Tax Specialists are expected to manage deadlines, communicate clearly, and grow their tax knowledge over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns using firm software
  • Organize and input tax data accurately based on client-provided documents
  • Identify missing or unclear items and follow up with clients or team leads
  • Maintain clear and well-organized digital workpapers for each return
  • Communicate progress and potential issues to senior staff or managers
  • Stay up to date on tax procedures and participate in training sessions
  • Assist with quarterly estimates and basic tax planning tasks
  • Meet internal deadlines and uphold firm standards of quality and confidentiality
Software Knowledge & Expectations
  • Proficient in Lacerte for preparation and review
  • Competent in QuickBooks Desktop and Online for tax-related financial data
  • Comfortable working in SmartVault for secure document sharing
  • Use Podio for task tracking, deadlines, and workflow updates
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (required)
  • Actively pursuing CPA license (preferred, not required)

Pay Details: $28.84 to $33.65 per hour
