What You’ll Do
You’ll work with a diverse portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals and families—many with complex tax profiles including multi‑state filings, investment activity, RSUs/options, rentals, and multi‑entity situations.
- Preparing complex federal and state individual returns (core focus)
- Managing multi‑state filings, investment reporting, and equity compensation items
- Handling partnership‑related items and K‑1s as needed
- Owning a high volume of returns during peak season
- Reviewing client documents and maintaining organized workpapers
- Preparing and tracking California e‑filing payment schedules
- Managing the full compliance cycle—gathering docs, tracking deadlines, resolving open items
- Completing ~20% tax administration tasks to fully own engagements
- Communicating directly with clients to provide updates and answer questionsCollaborating within a tight‑knit team that supports each other across busy periods
Who You Are
- 3+ years of experience in tax
- Strong background in individual tax preparation
- Exposure to partnership and K‑1 reporting (volume helpful but not required)
- Public accounting or public/private mix
- CPA or MST preferred, not required
