Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown, PC is seeking a Tax Manager for its Tax Services Group with offices in Boca Raton, FL; Orlando, FL; and other locations. The role leads tax engagements, mentors staff, and maintains strong client relationships across international, federal, state, and local tax matters.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Accounting, a CPA/JD/MS in Taxation, and 5+ years in public accounting tax, with leadership experience. Travel is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• CPA license, JD, or MS in Taxation (required).
• At least 5 years of experience in a public accounting firm tax department, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
• Excellent analytical and technical tax skills.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Review returns for accuracy across individuals, trusts, partnerships, and corporations.
• Research and draft memoranda on complex tax matters.
• Identify and implement tax planning opportunities.
• Handle and resolve tax controversies.
• Oversee tax research projects for diverse clients and industries.
• Manage multiple engagements concurrently with different teams to meet deadlines.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to staff; participate in professional development programs.
• Travel as needed.
