The Opportunity

As a Tax Technology and Transformation Manager, you will oversee and implement various tax technology solutions and process improvements to enhance the efficiency of our clients’ tax operations. Your responsibilities include leading projects involving system integrations, software implementations, and automation of tax processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage large-scale managed services and tax transformation projects.
• Lead digital tax transformation initiatives.
• Develop and oversee tax technology strategies and roadmaps.
• Implement and configure tax systems for direct and indirect taxes.
• Review and enhance tax analytics and reporting.
• Advise on tax operating model transformations.
• Manage development and deployment of custom tax systems.
• Coordinate projects in demanding environments, ensuring scope, cost, and schedule adherence.
• Identify operational improvements, review processes, controls, and technology systems for automation and data quality enhancement.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to improve tax strategies and approaches.
• Understand key tax processes, technology, data, analytics, and risk controls.

Skills and Attributes for Success

• Ownership and monitoring of tasks from requirements to configuration, testing, and debugging.
• Ability to automate manual tasks using existing and emerging technologies.
• Experience with dependency analyses across multiple projects.
• Embedding tax requirements into financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Hyperion).
• Developing test cases and debugging code.
• Producing efficient, clean code based on specifications.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant fields (Accounting, Finance, IS, etc.).
• At least five years of relevant experience or two to three years with a master’s degree.
• Certifications such as CPA, JD, Six Sigma, PMP, or relevant advanced degrees.
• Exposure to financial services, tax software development, or implementation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project management experience.
• Leadership, attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with tax technology solutions (e.g., CorpTax, ONESOURCE, Vertex).
• Development skills in custom applications and familiarity with ERP systems.
