About the Role

KPMG is seeking a Senior Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. This role involves assisting multi-state companies with state and local tax issues, including compliance, advising, planning, structuring, and controversies. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, review tax return information, research and draft technical memoranda, support tax controversies, and help audit teams with tax analysis. You will also be responsible for developing client relationships and supervising staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years of recent experience in tax research, reviewing state income tax returns, and providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; CPA, JD/LLM, EA, or MTX license or other approved credentials. Candidates without these credentials have one year from hire to obtain one.
• Proven ability to lead teams delivering state and local income tax compliance and consulting services.
• Strong business development and relationship-building skills, both internally and with clients.
• Excellent writing, compliance, communication, management, and tax research skills.
• Ability and enthusiasm to work in a high-energy team environment.
