A leading national CPA and advisory firm is looking for an experienced Tax Senior Manager to join its growing Private Client Services practice in New York.
This is a senior client-facing position focused on advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families and Family Offices whose tax affairs span personal wealth, trusts, investments, partnerships, closely held businesses and multigenerational family interests.
You'll take ownership of significant client relationships, lead complex tax engagements and work directly with Partners on both the technical and strategic needs of sophisticated private clients.
For someone already operating at Senior Manager level—or an experienced Manager ready for greater responsibility—the position provides a strong platform toward Director and Partner-level leadership.
The team works with individuals and families whose financial affairs rarely fit neatly into a single tax return.
Clients may have interests across operating businesses, partnerships, trusts, investment entities and family structures, requiring the team to understand the wider picture rather than treating each entity independently.
You'll work closely with clients and their other professional advisors to provide coordinated tax compliance and planning across their personal and business interests.
As Tax Senior Manager, you'll act as a senior point of contact across a portfolio of UHNW and Family Office relationships.
Your responsibilities will include:
A major part of this position is developing trusted, long‑term relationships with sophisticated private clients.
You’ll serve as a primary point of contact, ensuring clients understand where engagements stand, what information is required and any issues or planning opportunities that arise.
You’ll be expected to understand the client's wider circumstances— not simply their annual compliance requirements—and develop relationships across individuals, family members and related entities.
That means being comfortable communicating with business owners, executives, Family Office professionals and other advisors while explaining complex tax matters in a practical way.
You’ll also play an important role in developing the wider Private Client team.
Responsibilities will include:
At Senior Manager level, you’ll increasingly work alongside Partners on practice development, important client relationships and broader growth initiatives.
The successful candidate will have:
Experience with ProSystem, GoSystem, CCH Engagement or similar professional tax platforms would be beneficial.
This is an opportunity to move further away from being purely a technical reviewer and toward becoming a senior advisor to some of the firm's most sophisticated private clients.
You’ll have:
For a Private Client tax professional who has developed strong technical foundations but now wants greater client ownership, leadership responsibility and a route toward the top of the practice, this is a compelling next step.
