Job summary

RSM US LLP is seeking a Tax Senior Manager to join our Financial Services Insurance team. This role will lead and develop staff, provide tax guidance on insurance-related issues, and manage complex tax matters for corporate clients in the New York area.

Ideal candidates bring CPA/EA/Attorney credentials, 8+ years in public accounting or insurance tax, and strong communication skills to liaise with clients and service teams while ensuring compliance with ASC 740, SSAP 101, and related standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field.
• Active CPA license in the state of residence; or Enrolled Agent (EA) license; or Attorney license; or pre-approved alternative certification that meets firm requirements.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in public accounting or insurance industry.
• Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or collect necessary information for tax service requirements.
• Experience with one or more of: C-Corps, S-Corps or Partnerships.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• May have people leadership responsibilities
• Train and develop staff members
• Provide tax technical guidance on insurance related issues
• Work on multiple complex issues while communicating non-technically to facilitate client-service team communication and manage risk
• Serve as the Tax client service coordinator for appropriate clients
• Advise clients on corporate tax planning, research, compliance, and M&A activities
• Review research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent with firm policies and standards
• Assist with new business development and tax issue recognition for existing clients
• Manage corporate client tax needs and federal/state tax compliance
• Stay up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
