Job summary

RSM US LLP in Edison, NJ is seeking a Tax Senior Manager to join our Financial Services Insurance team. This role involves leading staff, providing tax guidance on insurance-related issues, and coordinating tax services for key clients.

You will advise on planning, compliance, and mergers and acquisitions activity, manage client relationships, and stay current on tax laws. A CPA or equivalent license and 8+ years of public accounting experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field.
• Active CPA license in the state of residence; EA license; Attorney license; or pre-approved alternative certification that meets RSM requirements.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in public accounting focusing on the insurance industry.
• Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or collect information for tax service requirements.
• Experience with C-Corps, S-Corps or Partnerships.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide tax technical guidance on insurance related issues.
• May have people leadership responsibilities; train and develop staff members.
• Serve as the Tax client service coordinator for appropriate clients.
• Advise clients on planning, research, compliance, and mergers & acquisitions activities.
• Review research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standards.
• Assist with new business development, extended service and tax issue recognition for existing clients.
• Manage corporate client needs with respect to tax services and federal and state tax compliance.
• Remain up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
• Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non-technical manner to facilitate communication between the client and the service team.
