We are seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Tax Senior to join our growing tax department. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation and review of complex tax returns, conducting detailed tax research, and serving as a key advisor to clients while supervising junior staff.
Tax Compliance: Lead the preparation and initial review of federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
Technical Research: Perform deep-dive research on complex tax issues to ensure compliance and identify tax-saving opportunities for clients.
Staff Supervision: Manage and mentor Tax Associates, providing guidance on technical issues and reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness.
Project Management: Coordinate tax engagements from start to finish, ensuring all deadlines are met and client deliverables are of the highest quality.
Client Advisory: Assist in tax planning and consulting projects, translating complex tax laws into actionable advice for stakeholders.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's in Taxation (MST) is a plus.
Certification: Active CPA license or significant progress toward completion.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in public accounting
Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, GoSystem, or Lacerte) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Expertise: Strong understanding of current tax codes and regulations, including ASC 740 and state/local tax (SALT) issues.
