We are working with an established and growing St. Louis MI public accounting firm looking to add an experienced CPA Tax Manager to its team.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a Tax Manager looking for more than just another compliance-focused position. You’ll work closely with Partners, manage your own portfolio of clients and have the opportunity to provide meaningful tax planning and advisory services while benefiting from a flexible working environment and an excellent overall compensation package.
Responsibilities
- Manage and review federal and state tax compliance engagements
- Review 1040, 1065, 1120 and 1120S tax returns
- Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services to individuals and business owners
- Research complex federal and state tax matters
- Manage multiple client engagements and ensure deadlines are consistently met
- Develop strong, long-term relationships with clients
- Review work prepared by Tax Seniors and Associates
- Mentor and develop junior members of the tax team
- Identify tax-saving and planning opportunities for clients
- Work directly with Partners on complex engagements and strategic client matters
Qualifications
Required Skills
- 5+ years of recent tax experience within a public accounting firm
- Tax Manager experience or an experienced Tax Supervisor ready to take the next step
- Strong experience with 1040, 1065, 1120 and 1120S returns
- Strong knowledge of individual and closely held business taxation
- Experience reviewing complex tax returns
- Strong tax planning and research capabilities
- Experience managing and developing junior tax professionals
- Excellent client-facing and relationship-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines
Pay range and compensation package
This firm offers a particularly strong benefits and incentive package, including:
- $130,000 – $160,000 base salary, depending on experience
