Job summary

H&R Block franchise is seeking an entry-level Tax Assistant to help begin the tax interview by entering client and W-2 information into the tax software and to assist in closing the interview by assembling the tax return, obtaining signatures, and reviewing the final product with the client.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, strong reading and math skills, and ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone, with prior experience using Windows-based programs.

Qualifications

• Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax return interview.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs.
• Additional state and local requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Enter client and W-2 information into the tax program to begin the interview.
• Assemble the tax return, obtain required signatures, review the finished product with the client, and complete bookkeeping procedures.
• Ensure all H&R Block clients are receiving superior service.
• All other duties as assigned.
