About The Role

We’re hiring a Tax Resolution Specialist to keep our founders focused on shipping product and away from paperwork. You will work closely with our Head of Customer Success and CEO, serving as the go-to person when a customer receives a payroll tax notice. Your responsibilities include researching the issue, communicating with agencies, and guiding founders and Warp through each resolution step.

What You’ll Do

• Decode federal, state, and local payroll tax notices
• Translate tax jargon into plain English
• Guide founders via email or quick Zoom sessions
• Draft letters, file responses, and represent Warp in conversations
• Maintain case notes in Linear and Notion for team visibility
• Identify compliance trends and process gaps
• Create FAQs, Founder Guides, and blog posts from recurring issues
• Collaborate with the Product team to test new tools that reduce resolution time

What You Need

• 2–4 years of payroll or payroll-tax experience
• Ability to handle high notice volumes and shifting priorities
• Exceptional organization skills to track deadlines and follow-ups
• Resolve notices with a focus on providing excellent customer experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to learn new skills daily

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in a similar role
• Familiarity with multi-state payroll (NY and CA focus a plus)
• Active CPA license
• Background in high-growth SaaS or payroll/HR startups

Working At Warp

This role requires high ownership and flexibility. You may need to work late or deploy urgent fixes. We value craftsmanship, attention to detail, and excellence. Our team is based in New York City, working in person five days a week at our SoHo office. However, we are open to remote candidates within the United States.
