Job summary

Harris County is seeking a Property Tax Refunds Supervisor to lead a team of Refund Specialists. You will mentor staff, resolve escalated issues, and improve refund processing efficiency while ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate financial handling.

The role requires coordinating with finance, legal and compliance, handling complex refunds, and overseeing daily operations in an office setting. Evening/weekend flexibility may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years in customer service, administrative support, finance, or refund processing.
• At least two (2) years in a lead or supervisory role managing teams and escalated inquiries.
• Knowledge of property tax processes and refund handling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and train a team of Refund Specialists to ensure efficient customer service and accurate financial processing.
• Review large volumes of Litigated/Non-Litigated refunds and confirm accuracy.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external entities to resolve refund issues.
• Monitor performance, provide feedback, and resolve escalated issues.
• Develop and deliver training materials for new hires and ongoing development.
• Manage staff schedules and daily operations for the Refund department.
