Job summary

CarMax, the nation’s largest retailer of used cars, seeks a Senior Manager, Tax Provision to lead the income tax accounting function and ASC 740 filings. This role partners across Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Treasury, and Audit Services to ensure precise tax reporting.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in income tax (public accounting or corporate), a four-year degree in Accounting or Finance, and preferably an MS or CPA. Onsite at the Richmond, VA home office.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance.
• MS in Accounting or Taxation preferred (MS required if degree is not in Accounting/Finance).
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of interim and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740.
• Develop and coach a team of associates through performance feedback and reviews.
• Ensure SOX compliance and maintenance of internal controls over tax accounting.
