CarMax is seeking a Senior Manager, Tax Provision to lead the company’s income tax accounting, including provision preparation, forecasts, and reporting under ASC 740. You will manage a team, develop staff, and interface with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Treasury and Audit Services to guide technical tax conclusions.

The role is based at the CarMax Home Office in Richmond, VA, with onsite work four days per week.

Formación

• Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance.
• MS in Accounting or Taxation preferred (MS required if degree is not in Accounting/Finance).
• CPA preferred.
• Seven+ years of relevant income tax experience including five+ years in public accounting or corporate tax with ASC 740 exposure.
• Three+ years leading teams with direct/indirect reports.
• Strong GAAP and SOX knowledge.
• Proficiency in OneSource Tax Provision, Microsoft Office, and Alteryx preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the preparation and review of interim and annual income tax provision under ASC 740, including uncertain tax positions and disclosures.
• Lead and develop a team of associates with performance feedback and development plans.
• Research, analyze and document complex tax accounting matters and regulatory changes; present recommendations to senior management.
• Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Treasury, Audit Services and other stakeholders on tax implications and financial reporting.
• Support internal controls over tax accounting and SOX documentation standards.
• Establish and ensure compliance with the transfer pricing methodology.
• Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, reporting accuracy, and automation.
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors and auditors.
