Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced Tax Professional for a seasonal role in Michigan (Dexter). You will conduct client interviews (in-person and virtual), prepare tax returns, and support growth through additional products and services while delivering IRS guidance.

Ideal candidates hold a relevant degree or CPA/EA certification, with 5+ years in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax, and comfort using virtual communication tools for client interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification preferred.
• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership) a plus.
• 5+ years of accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax experience.
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews using video, phone or chat.
• Experience with tax planning and audit support.
• Sales and/or marketing experience an asset.

• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services
• Provide clients with IRS support; audit representation under Circular 230 where applicable

Your Expertise

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience completing individual returns
• Experience working in a fast-paced environmentComfort working with virtual tools – video, phone and chat
• Ability to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing
• Must complete continuing education requirement and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
• High school diploma / equivalent or higher
