An active Enrolled Agent credential is preferred. Responsibilities include preparing federal and state returns, gathering documents, maintaining workpapers, reconciling books, preparing reports, and assisting with payroll

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing individual tax returns and small business books.
• Public accounting or tax firm experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and clear client communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
• Gather documents, request missing information and maintain organized workpapers.
• Maintain client books in QuickBooks and reconcile accounts.
• Prepare journal entries and routine financial reports.
• Communicate with clients about records, deadlines and questions; coordinate with senior staff.
• Assist with payroll reconciliations and related filings when needed.
• Support tax planning and notices under supervision.
