Job summary

Liberty Tax is seeking a Tax Preparer in Bakersfield to accurately prepare federal and state returns for individuals and small businesses during the busy tax season. You will interview clients, gather financial information, and ensure compliance while delivering friendly, clear service.

You'll work part-time during January–April with evening and weekend shifts, access to training, and opportunities for advancement. A PTIN and CTEC registration are required to perform this role.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Experience using tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Must have PTIN.
• Must have CTEC registration.
• Prior experience in tax preparation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate federal and state income tax returns for individuals and small businesses.

Schedule / Expected Work Hours:

• Seasonal, part-time during tax season (January-April)
• Evening and weekend availability required
• Typical hours: Monday-Saturday, 9 AM-9 PM
