Job summary

Liberty Tax is seeking a Tax Preparer to accurately prepare federal and state returns for individuals and small businesses while delivering strong customer service. You will guide clients through their financial situation, ensure compliance, and support a trusted, community-focused tax experience during the busy season.

Position is seasonal and full-time January through April with evenings and weekends; you will work as part of a supportive team, using tax software and MS Office to maintain

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Experience using tax preparation software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Must have PTIN (or be eligible to obtain one).
• Prior experience in tax preparation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate federal and state income tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
• Conduct client interviews to gather tax and financial information.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and company policies.
• Deliver excellent customer service and explain return results clearly.

Schedule / Expected Work Hours

• Seasonal, full-time during tax season (January–April)
• Evening and weekend availability required
• Typical hours: Monday–Saturday, 9 AM–7 PM
