Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a tax assistant in Michigan to help begin tax interviews by entering client and W-2 data, and to close interviews by assembling returns and obtaining signatures. You will review completed tax returns with clients and perform bookkeeping steps to finalize filings.

You will also help ensure all clients receive superior service. Strong reading and math skills, ability to communicate well in person and on the phone, and familiarity with Windows-based programs are

Qualifications

• Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax interview.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs.
• Additional state and local requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the beginning of the tax interview by entering client and W-2 information into the tax program.
• Assist with the closing of the interview by assembling the tax return, obtaining required signatures, reviewing the finished product with the client, and completing bookkeeping procedures.
• Ensure all H&R Block clients are receiving superior service.
• All other duties as assigned.
