Job summary

REDW is seeking a Tax Director of Practice Operations to lead the day-to-day Tax Department operations, drive efficiency, and partner with leadership to balance workload and budgets. The role emphasizes collaboration, coaching, and strategic use of technology to elevate client service.

The position requires 8+ years in tax operations or public accounting with a strong track record in process improvement and staffing. A CPA/EA/JD is preferred but not required based on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years in public accounting, tax operations, or professional services operations.
• Experience leading tax operations, with a track record of improving workflows and performance.
• Experience with large multi-office tax practices and complex service lines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Tax Department operations and ensure timely engagements and filings.
• Partner with principals and managers to manage workload, capacity, and resources.
• Drive process improvement, standardization, and operational efficiency.
• Monitor utilization, realization, profitability, and turnaround times.
• Lead recruiting, onboarding, and talent development with firm policies and standards.
• Champion technology, automation, and AI-enabled solutions to improve visibility.
