Job summary

Baker Tilly US, LLP seeks an experienced accounting methods specialist to serve as a firmwide resource for accounting method matters, leading a wide range of technical projects and client-facing guidance. Must be located near a Baker Tilly office.

Responsibilities include researching statutes, regulations, and case law; drafting memos and training materials; and collaborating with practice leaders to advance the firm’s accounting method capabilities within tax and advisory services.

Qualifications

• Must have 4-year degree, CPA or JD license.
• 14+ years of professional experience in accounting methods/tax.
• Strong research, writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth technical research and analysis of accounting method matters.
• Research and interpret statutes, regulations, administrative guidance, case law, and other authoritative sources to develop technically sound positions and practical recommendations.
• Monitor and evaluate new and proposed tax legislation, regulations, administrative guidance, and judicial decisions, and assess their potential impact on clients and the firm’s tax practice.
• Serve as a national technical resource, collaborating with practice leaders, subject-matter specialists, and client-facing teams to provide guidance on complex, significant, or accounting method matters.
• Draft and review internal and external tax alerts, technical updates, articles, presentations, and other thought-leadership materials, translating complex tax concepts into clear, concise, and actionable guidance.
• Develop and deliver technical training, webinars, and other educational programs to share knowledge and enhance accounting method capabilities across the firm.
