Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a senior accounting methods specialist located near a Baker Tilly office. You will serve as a firmwide resource for accounting method matters, lead diverse projects, and provide practical solutions tailored to client situations.

You will interact with clients and colleagues, enjoy research and writing, and mentor team members while staying current with tax developments and regulations. Strong technical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree
• 14 years professional experience
• CPA or Law License/JD required

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth technical research and analysis of complex accounting method matters
• Research and interpret statutes, regulations, administrative guidance, case law, and other authoritative sources to develop technically sound positions and practical recommendations.
• Monitor and evaluate new and proposed tax legislation, regulations, administrative guidance, and judicial decisions, and assess their potential impact on clients and the firm’s tax practice.
• Serve as a national technical resource, collaborating with practice leaders, subject-matter specialists, and client-facing teams to provide guidance on complex, significant, or accounting method matters.
• Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally.
• Demonstrate leadership, initiative, excellent team skills, and high ethical standards.
• Develop connections in the tax intelligence community, raising the public profile of Baker Tilly among our peers
• Support the growth and development of team members in accounting methods.
• Draft and review internal and external tax alerts, technical updates, articles, presentations, and other thought-leadership materials
• Develop and deliver technical training, webinars, and other educational programs to share knowledge and enhance accounting method capabilities across the firm.
• Build and maintain strong relationships across service lines, practice offices, and engagement teams to promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and consistent application of accounting method projects.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field

Twelve (12)+ year(s) experience in accounting methods and/or federal tax consulting
