Tax Manager, State & Local Tax (Income / Franchise) - Remote Option

Responsibilities:

1. Participate in compliance and consulting projects for multi-state alternative investment clients (hedge funds, private equity, real estate).
2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide industry-specific knowledge and experience.
3. Review tax calculations and information on state income tax returns.
4. Build and maintain client relationships; supervise, mentor, and develop staff.

Qualifications:

• At least five years of recent experience preparing or reviewing state income tax returns for pass-through and corporate entities, with technical expertise in multi-state tax issues.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; CPA, EA, JD/LLM, or MTX license (or other approved credentials). Candidates without an initial credential must obtain one within one year of hire.
• Experience working with pass-through entities and knowledge of relevant state tax concepts.
• Strong relationship-building skills internally and with clients.
• Ability to thrive in a high-energy team environment.
• Exceptional communication, project management, and tax research skills.
