About the role

We are seeking a Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. This role involves working on compliance and consulting projects for multi-state alternative investment clients, including hedge funds, private equity, and real estate. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, review tax calculations, and build client relationships while mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

1. Participate in compliance and consulting projects for multi-state alternative investment clients.
2. Assist as part of a team, providing industry-specific knowledge.
3. Review tax calculations and state income tax returns.
4. Develop and maintain client relationships; supervise and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• At least five years of recent experience with state income tax returns for pass-through and corporate entities, including multi-state tax issues.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. CPA, EA, JD/LLM, or MTX license required; candidates without these credentials have one year from hire to obtain one.
• Experience with pass-through entities and relevant state tax concepts.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
• Excellent communication, project management, and tax research skills.
